       Bob Keating's Metal Work including       Plant Supports for The Garden              203 264 3343
You'll find copies of the Embracer and even the name is copied;
 but know these are The Authentic Original Embracer

 New York Botanical Gardens is now selling my garden supports and Wreaths.

Back in 1994 Kathleen Nelson a friend and professional gardener asked "Since your a gardener and work with steel  could you design plant supports?" They had to really stand up to the word support and they had to be beautiful off season. I went home ,wrapped my arms around a tall miscanthus and curled my wrists in to hold on. Standing there I looked down and thought the support needs to do just what I'm doing with my arms. This is how I designed and named the Embracer(c). The other supports I offer are appropriately named and my comments will help you to know their uses. On this page you'll find my brochure and picture guide to the various supports. There are more images of supports on the custom designs page.
Here you can just see the 30"x 30" Embracer supporting the Hibiscus.
Fritillaria normally don't need support but a late wet snow fall does happen.
These edging hoops work very well as a pair overlapped to hold back floppy low annuals and perennials.
This is my new design and it moves with the wind as well as support dahlia's , asters and many other annuals. and perennials. 3 sizes.
This Honeysuckle is supported by a steel vine that winds around the cedar post.
Morning glory heavenly blue on a "branch" arbor made of steel.
Fall arrangements are can be humorous as winter re shapes them.
Here is the Space Needle with scarlet runner bean climbing on it.
This Embracer isn't supporting anything here. It's to show how comfortable they look in the garden even if you see them.
Rudbeckia Maxima with a trefoil.
155 peony rings for the New York Botanical Gardens at home ready for pick up.
The space needle with the same scarlet runner bean .
The three sizes of edging hoops make a fun and protective end to a bed.
I made this for Kathleen Nelsons cucumbers to climb on. It has white quartz crowns on top of the uprights.
New York Botanical gardens made a new peony bed with my peony rings,155 of them! They push them down low and bring them up as the plants grow.
